Contract Administrator

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer the construction of MTO and/or municipal contracts as per the Consultant agreement.
• Review and track the contractor’s Critical Path schedule.
• Having sound knowledge of the OPS specifications, Standard Drawings, Design Standards and related construction.
• Review/negotiate/recommend work that is not covered in contract such as Change Orders, claims and RFCs.
• Ensure approved construction materials are used and acquired from approved sources.
• Ensure that the contractor adheres to the contract requirements; e.g. health & safety, environmental, construction standards, protection of wildlife, etc.

Qualifications:

• Must be certified by OACETT and possess the Road Construction Contract Administrator (rcca) designation; or be a member of the PEO having P. Eng. Licence.
• Minimum one year experience as a Contract Administrator, on one or more MTO or municipal projects.
• Must have sound knowledge of design standards, specifications, and materials associated with construction, Laws and Regulations including Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety requirements and their application in construction contracts.
• Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Project and the application of specialized software relevant to the technical specialty.
• Must have passed T-131 course.

Road Construction Senior Inspector

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct inspection of highway and bridges construction contracts, as per current MTO Construction Administration Inspection Task Manual (CAITM).
• Prepare detailed daily diaries of the contractor’s work, contract progress and inspection milestones in WBCMS and ensure that the inspection tasks are completed and recorded in a prompt and accurate manner.
• Ensure that the contractor adheres to all contract requirements, as per the Contract Administrator’s direction; e.g. legal, environmental, construction standards, protection of wildlife, etc.
• Conduct sampling of materials for quality assurance purposes.
• Ensure approved construction materials are used and acquired from approved sources and a record is kept of such materials.

Qualifications:

• Must be certified by OACETT and possess the Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi) designation.
• Have experience of inspecting highway construction projects, or similar type of work pertaining to road construction (minimum 1-3 projects completed or 1-3 years of general construction experience).
• Must have sound knowledge of design standards, specifications, and materials associated with construction, Laws and Regulations including Environmental, Occupational Health & Safety requirements and their application in construction contracts.
• Computer literacy utilizing MS Office software applications.
